
In 2019, Don Valentín, accompanied by his wife Doña Irma Hernández, marked the beginning of a solid path, the path towards the preservation of his legacy. Doña Irma, in turn heir to another illustrious lineage of Mezcal, proudly remembers her ancestors who, two centuries ago, distilled Mezcal in “Guieusiin”, a place that witnessed the evolution of generations, from her great-grandfather Don José Hernández to her grandfather Don Reinaldo Hernández, today Don Hermilo Hernández is venerated in the palenque “Thanks to God” by Doña Irma’s brothers and mother, Doña María Santiago. This is how, in the “Leen brush” area, the intertwining of two great Mezcal families is witnessed, forging the “Guardianes del Mezcal” Palenque.

Today, the Palenque Guardianes del Mezcal is a sanctuary that honors the ancestral tradition and wisdom of yesteryear.
